LEAF

About Us

LEAF stands for Lindfield Environment And Facilities.  The committee takes care of special gardening projects and carry out regular pruning, mulching and planting work around the school.

Our work is in addition to regular maintenance work by contractors. Lindfield Public School has extensive and beautiful grounds which attract a lot of native fauna (possums, bandicoots, bush turkeys.) Many of the trees and bushes we enjoy now have been created through the work of parents on the LEAF Committee.

In 2009 we conducted 3 working bees, removing many noxious trees and plants in the school grounds. Using funds raised from the school community and from the local Council, we also engaged tree surgeons who removed 15 large and noxious trees from the school grounds. For 2010 we hope to continue this work, and to conduct plantings of native plants and trees in the grounds.

We aim also to increase environmental awareness via regular communication of our activities in the school newsletter.
